NENEAPC Sectionals – 2nd Place Finish!

January 27th & January 28th was an exciting weekend for Lucky’s Lobsters Swim Team!  More than 100 swimmers participated in the 2017-2018 NENEAPC Sectionals Swim Meet at the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester.  The Club’s swimmers were excited and their performance demonstrated both their motivation and their skill. Many Club members swam to their personal best records, won their heats, and earned many first place event finishes.

Overall, the group earned 2nd Place in Division 1. Additionally, the 11-12 girls from the Jamie McKeown Boys & Girls Club took home the trophy for first place for their age group. Many of the other age groups came is as Division 1 runner ups. Overall it was a tremendous success and everyone at the Club is very proud of each swimmer who showed their best efforts and amazing sportsmanship.

Lucky’s Lobsters is coached by Anthony Fiore, Casey Cullinane, Jill Branley, Matt Perry, Sam Flecchia and Kathryn O’Brien. The staff at the Club would also like to give a special shout out to the parent volunteers that donated their time at the Sectionals Swim Meet with the ribbons, timing, and officiating.

Join us for our Polar Plunge to support the Club!  Participants of any age are welcome to participate & Club members are encouraged to come.  Youth must be accompanied by an adult.  Ask your family & friends to support you and try to raise $50 to donate to the Club.  We hope you’ll consider getting involved and we hope to see you brave the icy waters with us on February 11, 2018!

Be sure to check out the latest schedule of activities that occur at the Main Clubhouse each day.  The Clubhouse is open for members to drop-in after school Mondays through Fridays, 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Members who are in 8th grade & high school can stay until 9:00 p.m.!

In addition to scheduled activities, there are 2-3 other options at every hour that members can choose from.  There’s always something fun happening, so be sure to come often to get involved!

More than 2,000 kids & parents/guardians have attended orientation to join the Club or renew their membership. Thank you so much!

Remember, ALL members, new and returning, MUST attend an orientation to take a tour of the new building and understand the new policies and procedures.  A membership to the Club costs just $25.00, a completed application, and attendance at an orientation. Thanks for understanding!

We are excited to open the Clubhouse for our 1st Family Night on Monday, November 20th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Drop-in members and their families can join us for an evening of experiencing the Club with your Club kid!

We ask all families to bring a non-perishable food item to help support our local food pantry! All members must be accompanied by an adult to participate. Please note we will not be serving food at this event.

Join Torch Club!  The Tanners Torch Club is a dynamic character and leadership development program, designed specifically for Club members in grades 6, 7, and 8.

Torch Club members participate in a wide variety of service projects that benefit both their Club and their community.  Torch Club members meet once per week to engage in discussions, activities and to plan upcoming events.

The Tanners Torch Club meets every Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn. Members must commit to attend weekly meetings and stay for the entire hour.
