Season of Giving – 2025 Annual Campaign
At the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, our mission is simple; to inspire youth to find their greatness. Every year, at six different locations across Woburn, more than 1,230 kids and teens walk through our doors and find a safe, welcoming space where they can learn, play, and grow. From homework help and enrichment activities in art and STEM, to sports and recreation, every program builds ownership, leadership, and strong, healthy relationships that prepare members to be their best selves.
We keep membership at just $25 per year, but it costs the Club about $1,850 per child each year to provide these life-changing opportunities. Thanks to generous donors, grants and community partners, families never have to face the true cost alone. Nearly 70% of our annual funding comes from fundraising efforts – making your support essential to sustaining our mission.
Just as the seasons change, so do the needs of our youth. This year, our staff and volunteers expanded programming, added initiatives to support members’ basic needs, and even helped 30 teens earn their ServSafe Certification – giving them real skills and brighter opportunities for the future.
CHANGING SEASONS, CHANGING LIVES. As we celebrate this Season of Giving, we’re proud to share the story of Megan, our 2025 PFC Joseph L. Drew Youth of the Year. Megan’s journey is a powerful example of how the Club helps young people find belonging, build confidence, and discover their potential.
“I will always be grateful for the McKeown Boys & Girls Club and all the time I was able to spend at 1 Charles Gardener Lane. At the Club, I found a community of people who supported me through everything, and who accepted me for the person that I am no matter what.
This constant love and support that is felt in the Club is something I will always aspire to bring to any space I enter, and I am so grateful that I now have the opportunity to bring this knowledge to Boston College. I have been able to continue working with kids as a volunteer in BC’s largest volunteer program, 4Boston. There, I can use my time from behind the Gamesroom counter, my hours of Keystone meetings, and teen nights spent with friends to help me make new connections and meet new people.
– Megan, 2025 PFC Joseph L. Drew Youth of the Year
Now, we invite you to join our Season of Giving campaign to help us continue changing lives and reach our $100,000 goal. Together, we can ensure that every young person has the chance to thrive.
FUND OUR MISSION. Your generous gift of any amount directly supports the Club’s ability to open its doors to 250+ kids and teens each afternoon and ensures that the next generation of Club members have the same life-changing opportunities Megan did.
Here are some examples of how your gift will be used to inspire our youth:
-
- $50 provides two annual scholarships to the Clubhouse program
-
- $100 provides one month of a “weekend food backpack” to a Club family
-
- $250 provides one week of healthy afternoon snacks
-
- $500 provides college & workforce mentorship to ten teenagers
-
- $1,000 provides free summer lunch for ten youth
WE DID IT – AND THEN SOME! We’re thrilled to share that our Season of Giving Campaign not only reached our $100,000 goal, but surpassed it! Thanks to the generosity of our community, $124,987 was raised to support our youth.

Together, your support is helping to change lives and build brighter futures for the kids and teens who count on us every day.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US REACH OUR MATCH. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community – and a $25,000 matching gift from a generous donor – we’ve successfully unlocked the full match!
That means $25,000 in community support became $50,000 for our Club kids, bringing us halfway to our $100,000 Season of Giving goal.
Your support is essential. Every gift helps us meet the changing needs of our youth and allows us to continue providing safe spaces, caring mentors, enrichment programs, and life-changing opportunities for all our Club members.
Your gift today keeps the momentum going and makes a direct, meaningful impact on the young people who count on us most. Together, we can build brighter futures for our Club kids!
HOW WE’RE RECOGNIZING GIFTS THIS SEASON. As part of our Season of Giving campaign, every gift will be celebrated with a simple token of thanks. Each gift will be recognized in a fun, seasonal way – with pumpkins filling our Club windows this fall and stars lighting up our windows in December.
Donors’ names (if they choose) will be displayed on these symbols in our Club’s front window, creating a growing showcase of community support. We will also share an updated social media post to thank all who have contributed.
Together, these displays remind our members and families that it truly takes a village – and every gift helps change lives.
WILL YOU HELP us change the lives of the ones who count on us most? If your answer is YES, please complete the form below and give to the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club today!
