Volunteering at the Club

Volunteers are truly the lifeblood of the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn. There are a number of ways you can help further the Club’s mission of inspiring youth to find their greatness.


Types of volunteers we’re looking for

Individual
Power Hour Assistant Volunteer: Provide educational assistance to elementary/middle school kids by tutoring and/or helping with homework.
Enrichment Volunteers: Partner with Club staff and create a short specialized skill course that is taught over a period of time. Past enrichment volunteers have taught classes in: dance, arts and crafts, sports, cooking, music, sewing, knitting/crochet, etc.
Special Event Volunteers: Assist with occasional events such as fundraisers and national days of service.
Youth Volunteers: We gladly accept youth volunteers that need to fulfill any volunteering hours assigned by academic programs.Youth under the age of 18 who wish to volunteer are required to be active, participating members of the Club.
Maintenance Volunteers: Assist with maintenance needs around the building. Help with seasonal projects like snow removal in the winter and painting the Clubhouse in the summer.
Administrative Volunteers: Support the Administrative Team by assisting with marketing/fundraising. Help organize newspaper articles/pictures for an archive/scrapbook.

Group
We always welcome corporate and other groups seeking service opportunities to volunteer at our Club. In one afternoon, a motivated group can transform a program space or engage a group of youth in a special activity.
