After the Bell & Before the Bell
In cooperation with the Woburn Public Schools, the Boys & Girls Club is proud to offer a 21st Century Learning Center out-of-school-time program at the Shamrock Elementary School, and before-school programming at the Shamrock Elementary School and Malcolm White Elementary School.
Shamrock Elementary School – After the Bell
Staffed by teachers and paraprofessionals, After the Bell is focused on academic enrichment and social-emotional development. Students are recommended by school staff and occasionally there is space for parents to elect for their children to participate. Please note that After the Bell is not a childcare program. Children participate in high yield learning activities that help to improve their academic skills and also receive assistance with their homework assignments. The program takes place from dismissal until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. After the Bell at the is a 21st Century Community Learning Center, funded by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Priority is granted to students who are recommended by school staff. If your child was not recommended, but you are interested in participating, please e-mail Alison McDaniel, After the Bell Program Director, to join the waiting list.
Malcolm White School & Shamrock School – Before the Bell
To get the school day started in a positive way, fitness activities are offered at both the Shamrock & Malcolm White Elementary Schools. Members of the Physical Education Leadership class at Woburn Memorial High School visit the Shamrock & Malcolm White each morning and engage the students in fun games and physical fitness. It is a great way to start the day! Before the Bell begins at 7:30 a.m. five mornings per week.
Registration for the 2022-2023 Before the Bell programs will not take place until after the school year begins. Information will likely be available during the second or third week of school. Please check back at that time. Thank you!
